Heineken UK has hired Capita Employee Benefits to be the pensions administrator for its Scottish & Newcastle Pension Plan.

As part of the five-year contract, Capita will also provide the trustee with scheme accounting, pensioner payroll services and carry out a comprehensive data rectification project.

Carol Young, Heineken pension manager, said: "After a comprehensive process, the trustee chose Capita because they offered the best combination of quality of service and value for money for us and our scheme members."

The closed defined benefit (DB) scheme has over 41,000 members and will be administered from Capita's Sheffield office.

Nick Burns, Capita Employee Benefits chief executive, said: "We look forward to working in partnership with the trustee and Heineken in the UK to complete the data rectification project on schedule and develop the ongoing service for the benefit of scheme members."
