The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association has published its latest Made Simple Guide on "at retirement services".

The guide is designed to help pension schemes understand the new choices facing savers following the pension freedom reforms and identify where schemes can provide help and support.

Made Simple guides are a resource for people in the pensions industry written in simple language but covering a range of technical issues.

The series includes topics such as Better data, better governance; Foreign Exchange; Diversified Growth Funds; and Securities fraud and investor remedies.

The new guide, sponsored by WEALTH at work, was published at the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association Trustee Conference in London.

Joanne Segars, PLSA chief executive, said that while reforms have been broadly welcomed, savers now faced more complex decisions.

"It's not just savers who find themselves in new terrain - employers and trustees are also witnessing their roles change and new challenges emerge as they continue to provide a workplace pension scheme and support scheme members."

"That's why we have published this Made Simple Guide to help pension schemes understand the new choices facing savers following the pension freedom reforms and identify where schemes can provide help and support."

Jonathan Watts-Lay, Director, WEALTH at work, a provider of financial education, guidance and advice in the workplace, added that the guide provided clear guidance on complex issues.

"Few could have imagined the breadth and scale of the changes to our pension landscape announced in the Budget of March 2014."

"The challenges and choices facing all those with DC schemes approaching retirement are complex, and we are pleased to have partnered with the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association to develop this Made Simple Guide which explains to employers and trustees, clearly and simply, how they can support their employees in the midst of the growing unpredictability of retirement."

In June 2015 the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association and WEALTH at work announced the launch of a new financial education service designed for pension schemes to offer their members as well as individuals approaching retirement.
