The pensions minister will be the next speaker at an Association of Member Nominated Trustees (AMNT) member event.

The event, Pension Trustees: Have your Say, is a one-day event for member-nominated trustees (MNTs) to meet key industry figures and discuss issues relevant to the pensions sector.

Topics for discussion include DB and DC pensions, and responsible investments.

Richard Harrington MP, minister for pensions, is a key speaker, along with other senior actuaries and researchers, including Nick Sherry, the former Australian pensions minister turned global government adviser on pension systems.

Attendees will also hear the AMNT's views on the DWP's forthcoming White Paper on DB schemes.

David Weeks, co-chair of AMNT said: "The event offers member-nominated trustees an invaluable platform to share their opinions with key decision makers in the industry."

"Given the current complexity of the market and increasing responsibility being placed on trustees, we are dedicated to empowering MNTs and equipping them with the resources to carry out their duties as effectively as possible."

The AMNT is a not-for-profit company set up by and for member-nominated trustees, member-nominated directors, and employee representatives, of UK-based occupational pension schemes in the private and public sector.

Set up in 2010, it has more than 660 members from pensions schemes, with collective assets totalling around £640 billion.

Have your Say, is hosted by the Pensions Insurance Corporation (PIC).

"Guests will have plenty of opportunity to network and we take part in the group discussions," said Richard Harrington.

"The AMNT will enable MNTs to build their skills and knowledge, voice their opinions, share best practice, become part of a like-minded community and be better recognised for the good and important work they do."
