A current affairs-style programme about the pensions industry is now available to watch online.

Pensions Reinvention, a joint initiative between the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) and ITN Productions, looks at the future of the pensions industry.

Pension Reinvention is hosted by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, who delivers ninety minutes of interviews with industry leaders, news-style reports, and sponsored editorial profiles of some of the leading organisations in the industry.

The programme is in three parts and cover the impact of recent changes to regulations on trustees, fund managers, employers and fund members.

PLSA says employers are being encouraged to take a stronger role in engaging fund members, while trustees face the pressure of more regulatory obligations and responsibilities in an increasingly complex environment.

Joanne Segars, PLSA chief executive, said: "Producing the programme has enabled us to showcase some of the outstanding professional work taking place across our sector."

"Reports on important subjects, such as DB schemes funding, pensions freedoms, technological innovations and new trustee obligations, has helped deliver a series of programmes that give a comprehensive view of where the pensions industry is heading."

Chair of the PLSA's DB Taskforce, Ashok Gupta, features in a special report about the future of Defined Benefit schemes.

The Taskforce looks at challenges faced by the six thousand DB pensions schemes and 16 million members in the UK.

Other reports include the launch of PLSA's new Retirement Quality Mark, and how its Pensions Solution website is helping small employers with auto enrolment.

There are 19 sponsored reports and sponsors include BlackRock, Broadstone, Deloitte, Legal and General, and The Pensions Trust.

Simon Shelley, head of industry news at ITN Productions said the organisation was happy to partner with PLSA for the programme.

"The pensions environment is important to all of us, and new freedoms have significantly changed demands on employers, fund managers and individuals who are making one of the most important financial decisions of their life."

"The series features interviews and case studies delivered by our reporting team – and we are proud to partner with PLSA to help propel the industry into a dynamic future."
