The £4.3bn Tyne and Wear Pension Fund, which is run by South Tyneside council, has announced it has re-hired Aberdeen Asset Management to manage its UK property portfolio.

The contract is for the management of a segregated direct UK property portfolio, which is currently valued at £350m.

The four other companies that were shortlisted were: Cordea Savills Fund Management, Cushman and Wakefield Investors, LaSalle Investment Management and Rockspring Property Investment Management.

According to Pension Funds Online the fund currently has more than 112,000 members.
