Employee benefit communication company, SHILLING Communication, has been appointed by British Airways to provide the communications relating to their annual 'Pensions Month.'

SHILLING created a series of newsletters in September and ensured that an increasing number of people in British Airways' 34,000 workforce visited the company's Reward intranet section.

Alex Thurley-Ratcliff, strategic consultant at SHILLING Communication, said: "This project was particularly challenging as there was a very complex set of parameters to produce a personalised communication that was easy to understand, short and still attractive to a very wide- ranging workforce. What was particularly significant about this appointment was that we were brought on by the company to help the Reward Team.  This is clearly representational of how the market is developing in terms of pensions being seen as part of a much larger reward platform and not an isolated benefit."

Janine Sparks, reward manager (Employee Benefits) at British Airways said: "SHILLING were selected for the project for a number of reasons but, most significantly, we were impressed with how they maintained creative flair and style while still thinking about and approaching the project in a very strategic manner. We were also impressed by the quality of the work they have done for other people.  We have been extremely pleased as, after the newsletters went out in early September, we have had very good feedback from colleagues at all levels and there has been a significant increase in hits to our Reward intranet.  SHILLING were a clear fit for us, they were easy to work with, understood our needs and aims perfectly and we are planning further communications work with them over the next few months on auto enrolment."
