Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited (USS Limited) has outsourced all of its IT operations to improve efficiencies in its ICT infrastructure.

USS Limited, which has assets of approximately £38bn, decided to select Civica to host its ICT infrastructure with a cloud computing solution.

In 2012, USS Limited decided to virtualise all of its ICT operations in order to deliver "a scalable, flexible and agile solution".

Philip Moss, USS Limited IT infrastructure manager, said: "USS Limited is committed to providing a fast, effective, and above all, secure service to our customers and this agreement has enabled us to ensure that our pensions and investment service is supported by high quality ICT infrastructure.

"We already have a partnership with Civica and worked with them to develop our pensions management software, delivering an improved service for our members."
