The trustees of the London Stock Exchange Retirement Plan have announced the appointment of a new legal adviser.

Global law firm Eversheds has been awarded the contract following a competitive tender process.

According to data held by Pension Funds Online, the scheme has a total of 1250 members (701 pensioners, 89 active and 460 deferred members) and currently holds £264m in assets under management.

London Stock Exchange Group is Europe's leading exchange group in cash equities, fixed income and post trade services and is a FTSE 250 company.

Partner Jeremy Goodwin, who led the Eversheds team, said: "We are thrilled to have been appointed by the Trustees and look forward to working with them."

The company takes over from Linklaters, which owned the previous contract to provide the retirement plan with legal advice.
