Royal London, a mutual life and pensions company, has announced that Roger Edwards, managing director of UK protection brands Bright Grey and Scottish Provident, will be leaving the company.

Hugh McKee, chief executive of Royal London's intermediary division, said: "We are starting to restructure the division to help deliver greater efficiency while continuing to provide strong expertise in our chosen markets.

"Edwards has decided not to be considered for a role in the new structure and will leave the company in due course to pursue new challenges. I would like to thank Edwards for his very significant contribution throughout his twelve years with Royal London and to wish him well in the future."

Edwards will continue in his current role and will support the transition to the new structure of the intermediary division.
