Four new people have been elected to sit on The Pensions Administration Standards Association's (PASA) board.

The newly elected board members are Mercer's Gary Evans, Ensign Pensions Administration's Michael Mann, Punter Southall's Richard Thomas and Capita Employee Benefits' Deborah White.

The new board members will be joining three existing directors, who have been retained.

PASA had seven candidates to fill, but had only six vacancies, so it decided to increase the board number to 13.

Margaret Snowdon, PASA chairman, said: "I am very please with this outcome, as it allows us to retain expertise and also to bring in some new blood. PASA has made considerable progress in its short existence, largely through a small number of committee individuals.

"The hard work must continue if we are to achieve our objective of being the organisation representing good standards in pension administration. I know the new board is keen to step up to the plate."

PASA elects at least one third of its board of volunteer directors each year. Following this year's election, the board is now composed of right third party administrators (TPAs), two in-house schemes and three independent members.

Other members of the new PASA board from August 2013 include: Margaret Snowdon, Mark Adamson, Karen Bennett, Fergus Clarke, Sara Cook, Peter Dyer, Kim Gubler, John Simmonds and Debra Soper.
