The Pensions Trust has appointed a new regional development manager for the South West, as part of its strategy to develop its DB Complete product.

Niel Gavin joins the organisation having worked in corporate pensions consulting and management for 22 years – he has been a direct scheme manager for both DB and DC schemes.

He has extensive experience in scheme de-risking and cost reduction, having worked on many projects with both private and public sector employers.

Gavin joins the regional team to support and drive the Trust's expansion by pushing for new business, particularly in the DB legacy market where he will engage with the corporate adviser community.

He said: "This is an exciting time for the Pensions Trust as it builds on the launch of its DB Complete product.

"I am very much looking forward to working with the business development team and engaging with the adviser community in the south west."

Gavin previously worked for Equinti, and prior to that has also worked for Mercer, The Oval Group, Land Securities and Friends Provident.

The Pensions Trust is one of the leading workplace pension funds in the UK. DB Complete is its "fully bundled" solution for DB legacy schemes.

Pensions Trust chief executive Mike Ramsey said: "Niel has a wealth of technical knowledge and understands first-hand what it is like to manage a pension scheme.

"His expertise will be invaluable to the Trust as we move to develop our position in the DB legacy market following the launch of DB Complete."

"We are pleased to announce the appointment," he added.
